Welcome to "Grandma's Corner in A Wealthy Place" where a wealth of wisdom will be shared by Helen Juanita Wells aka "Grandma Wells". Helen is a native of Warsaw, Virginia. Born in the late 1920's in a small town, she is no stranger to experiencing financial depression and recessions along with discrimination and segregation during her lifetime. She is the second child of six siblings. She left Warsaw at the tender age of 16 for the big city of Washington DC. Throughout the episodes of "Grandma's Corner in A Wealthy Place", we will follow her journey that will guide us through many life lessons that she has learned along the way. Come, sit and stay awhile at Grandma's Corner.

Grandma Wells extends Easter greetings and shares the account of Jesus the Christ's crucifixion, burial and resurrection from the dead unto life eternal as Lord, Savior and King.
Matthew 28:5-6 "And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

Grandma's Corner in AWP...Grandma Wells Goes Bowling 10/18/2020
Welcome to "Grandma's Corner in A Wealthy Place" where a wealth of wisdom will be shared by Helen Juanita Wells aka "Grandma Wells". Join her as she goes bowling for the first time in over 15 years and is pleasantly surprised by the attendance of 15 of her 30+ grandchildren. She also gets to see her first 2 month old great great granddaughter, Tori for the first time. Also there to have fun bowling with Grandma Wells is her first granddaughter, Marcia (Tori's grandmother) and first great granddaughter, Tiarra (Tori's mother).
Come, sit and stay a while as we listen in on Grandma Wells as she continues her life journey and shares about today (10/18/2020) being the anniversary of the death of her father who was killed by a hit and run driver on October 18, 1941 when she was 12 years old. She acknowledges that a day when she would have been home mourning turned into a memorable day of joy, fun and laughter.
At almost 92 years young...Grandma Wells still has some major bowling skills.

Join her as she welcomes Fall especially the fall of the leaves and temperature. Come, sit and stay a while as we listen in on Grandma Wells as she continues her life journey and remanences about her fond Fall favorites and memories.
Grandma Wells shares more of her Summer experiences even in the midst the COVID pandemic. She misses visiting her home and family in Warsaw, Virginia and extends birth congratulations, condolences, birthday wishes and anniversary love to her grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins. She talks about the extreme joy she experienced in talking with her niece, Monica Taylor who lives in Sudan, Africa.
She sends her continued love to her Wayland Baptist Church family and Rev. Gayle Briscoe who shared an inspiring and encouraging word from God. She gives condolences and prayers to family and friends in the transition of her dear friend and brother in Christ, Bro. John Wells. She also extends congratulations and well wishes to Pastor Hoffman Brown in his retirement from his sincere and faithful service to Wayland Baptist.
Grandma Wells closes with words of wisdom regarding the upcoming halloween event..."it's better to be safe than sorry...it is a treat to be alive"

Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar.
